Gloria’s Leaves Blowing in the Wind, Bush Medicine

"It can look like mesmerising swirling leaves
being blown by a restless wind"
In 2005 Gloria said she would like to paint a very large painting, that is 305cm x 183cm!
Watching the beautiful work being created was a privilege I could not have imagined in my previous life.
Gloria asks for three colours to be mixed for her at a certain consistency. This time the colours are to be white, cream and lemon.

Gloria then paints the story white, then again with the second and then the final colour. Sometimes she needs to sit or partly lie on the canvas.

Holding her brush at the top she rhythmically flicks each leaf onto the canvas. It is as though she is waving a wand and the leaves all fall in place, gently moving with a breeze.

At no stage does Gloria move away and study what she has done to work out how to proceed. She doesn’t have to. She innately knows how it should be.

Many have tried to follow in Gloria’s footsteps, but I haven’t seen one with her sense of movement. It’s easy to see the difference and the only ones with the magic, belong to Gloria.
